The journal kept by 6 year old Laura Jernegan when she joined her family on a three year whaling voyage has been scanned and is available to read online. You can read the scanned journal pages, a transcribed text, or listen to her journal read out loud’.

My favorite part of working in archives was when I literally got paid to read someone’s diary.  Because I’d do that for free!
